Sample Immersion Service and Adventure Semester Itinerary:

3 weeks of backpacking, rock climbing, mountaineering Sierra Nevada of California; Learning outdoor leadership and ministry, group facilitation, communication skills, and Christian spiritual formation.







6 weeks in Bass Lake California, 15 minutes from the entrance to Yosemite National Park: local service projects both established and student- initiated (many local cross-cultural opportunities), experiential class time, ISAS community building, outdoor adventure trips to hone skills and leadership, group worship



6 weeks in Ecuador, Spanish school, urban and rural home-stays, outdoor adventure on the high altitude volcanoes of the Andes, service alongside an Ecuadorian Christian outdoor adventure program, service in poor areas of Quito, visiting local churches, class-time to read, discuss, and reflect on authors who’ve written and processed their own cross-cultural immersions.

Debriefing back in California: Finishing touches on academic reflections and case-studies, celebrating our experiences and learning, processing of re-entry into our own culture.
